The theory behind psychodynamic psychotherapy is that part of our mind operates outside of conscious awareness and that our early life experiences influence later development and our patterns of behaving, relating and coping.
What to Expect
During sessions you will be encouraged to express whatever comes to mind and whatever is happening for you in the moment. As we explore your issues we will draw connections between your current experiencing and your past. We will also notice what is happening between us in the room.
Working in this way helps to bring the unconscious into conscious awareness and leads to greater understanding of the emotional issues and conflicts at the root of your present difficulties.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place at the same time every week. Find out more here.
